Quick Update

Welcome mighty adventures.

I bring you news of what is going on in the worlds of my brain.

Last post I told you about the three projects that I am working on. Today, I have an update on one of those projects…well, I guess technically it is two of them.

Twilightshield

So, I have changed the name for this series. I am not sure currently if I am going to make it about Dwok’s family or just him, but he is going to be attempting to reclaim a family heirloom and bring honor back to his family also. I have been working on the family heirloom’s back story and have come up with some interesting tidbits that will make it even more exciting.

I know I didn’t mention this, but I am using a couple of other author’s products to help with the story. It is a little experiment to see how it works. So far I think it is coming out great. Here are the products…

The Artefact by Jack Harrison

This is a pretty cool book and has several different items in it that you can create. Well, it is the base items. There are only three in the book, but I don’t think it would really be that hard to create up any item you wanted with the rules it lays out for you. Right now I am creating an axe that was made by Dwok’s ancestor Hulron.

I have finished the first keeper (that is what the book calls the wielders of the artefact you play out in the book) and I am currently working on the second. I have slowed down a bit since I am also using another item to help create the wielders and other important characters in the history of the item. I am not too worried about it since the axe won’t come into play until later in the story.

The Universal NPC Emulator (UNE) by conjecture Games

For me, I am not sure if I would be able to use this during a TTRPG (Table Top Role Playing Game) but it is quite helpful with fleshing out my characters. I am not using it for all of them, just the one I am having a little trouble working out. I really have so far only used the personality and motivation sections but it has made some interesting characters.

This one is mainly for 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons but I did use it at the start. I have switched to the next on my list but I do like some of this (specifically the Yes-No question resolution) better than…

Again, with this one I haven’t used the whole book, just the parts that are necessary.

Each of these are great tools. They have helped to inspire me, to take my story in unexpected directions. I have also been thinking of using them for their intended purpose of playing a solo adventure game as my schedule doesn’t always allow me to play much D&D. I have started a game with my family (none of which have played before, and surprisingly my mom and oldest daughter have seemed to have the most fun so far).

But anyways, I have rambled on long enough. I have a few other things that have popped up with my projects but I think I have rambled on long enough for this post. I will update the other projects next week. And I believe I should also have the first episode of Twilightshield up by then also.

And as always…

Adventure with all you have!
